Why I dressed in Islamic regalia – Fayose

The Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has given reasons why he appeared in Muslim attire to mark the Eid-el-Kabir with Muslim faithful in the state.

The governor, a Christian, dressed in full Islamic regalia, showed up at the prayer ground sitting among Muslims on Friday.

When reporters demanded his reasons, Fayose said, “I got elected by everyone’s vote. Choice of religion is free.

“As a leader, appearing in a Muslim regalia with a turban is to say that I must be part of everything the Muslims do and make then realise that we are all one family.

“I will also ensure that all their demands today are met.”

Fayose appeared in Islamic dress code with a turban and a string of praying beads on Friday.

  1. You are really not for anybody but for everybody. It is not only Christians that voted you into power, Muslims also did. You did what a true leader should do. Keep it up.

  3. Alright !!! If that's what u believe, that Muslims voted u into power which is true, then we are a day away to see u worshipping Sango, Oya, Ifa, and all forms of traditional religion and being part of them but it's ONLY Jesus Christ that can do it and not Ifa as ur name depicts. Tanx at least for letting ur heart out to us but I would like to remind u that the Muslims or the Christians that voted for u didn't do it out of religion or out of ur religious connection or belief but from their conviction of what they believed in u, but now, u are leaning on ur own understanding and this too is an insult to the Muslim community. Tanx and good morning sir, Governor Fayose. Be blessed all as u read this. As usual, Today Sunday 09032017 @ 3:21am.
