The group’s National Coordinator, Usman Ibrahim, said Shittu’s choice marked the end of its rigorous search for a mentor, backbone, leader and father who believes in the group’s course and principal ideology.
Ibrahim identified the ideologies to include incorruptibility, patriotism, dedication and credibility, adding that the ideals were uniquely identified in the person of Shittu. He added that the inauguration also marked the beginning of the journey to attaining the greater goals of the group.
In a statement on Friday, he said, “We are proud to align with the achievements of the minister who within this short time in office has evolved digital government platform innovations that have redefined the narrative of the communication sector of the Nigerian economy.
“His management acumen, intelligence, vision, dedication, patriotism and humility were adequately employed to yield the transformative dividends currently being experienced in the communication sector in particular and the economy in general,” he said.
Ibrahim explained that the appointment of Shittu as Board of Trustees chairman was a proof of the minister’s capability, diligence and commitment to the change agenda of the present administration.
Meanwhile, Shittu said the President had delivered on the campaign promises of the All Progressives Congress, adding that a lot of policies had been put in place by the administration and that Nigerians have started seeing tangible results of the policies.
