Nobody knew how close Olamide and Skales were until yesterday when the Shake Body crooner took to his social media to reveal that the YBNL boss played a major role in his success as an artist.
The Nigerian singer and rapper, Skales publicly showed gratitude to fellow rapper, Olamide who he said sponsored his video 'Shakebody' after his contract ended with Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) in 2014.
Taking to Twitter three years after shooting the video for the song which became a major hit, the music star in a series of tweets revealed that Olamide funded the shooting of Shake Body, the song that earned Skales the global recognition he so deserves.
“Olamide actually gave me cash to shoot the ‘Shake Body’ video back then (because) I was super broke and couldn’t afford to shoot a video for that song,” said the singer.
And it is thanks to Olamide’s kindness, else American singer Alicia Keys and her husband, the music producer Swizz Beatz, may not have heard of Skales. Plus, the Nigerian singer has now gone on to collaborate with Diplo, and also earned a shoutout from Nicki Minaj.
