Okorocha breaks silence on Biafra | Nigeria News Today. Your online Nigerian Newspaper f

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has described the agitation by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, for a sovereign republic in the South-East as a child’s play.

Okorocha, who doubles as Chairman of Progressive Governors’ Forum, made this statement on Wednesday when he led a delegation of the forum on a visit to internally displaced persons, IDPs, and victims of the recent Benue flood disaster in Benue State.

He said no reasonable Igbo man was backing the agitation.

His words, “I have always said that IPOB is an agitation group, but the captioning is bad when you talk of sovereignty within a sovereign nation and also talking of secession.

“Let me assure you that no Igbo person or man is in support of secession and people must see this as a childish act. We must stand up to address it before it becomes a national problem.

“As for us leaders in that area, it will be insane for anyone to think that the IPOB leader will ask us to follow him to seek secession.

“So Nigerians must learn to address it specifically. If you are addressing IPOB you should be specific and not to address it as if it is an Ibo affair.”

Okorocha during the visit personally donated N10 million to the victims, also sympathised with Benue State over the disaster.

  1. Okorocha, it's clear from the get go that you've been bought over. Remember that the Igbo people could be in perpetual bondage. Does that matter to you?

    1. But that does not bother him, only his political ambition even at the expense of igbo blood. What baffles me is how hausa man made it to Douglas house

    2. "He said no reasonable Igbo man was backing the agitation"...This therefore show you are not a reasonable igbo man, not surprised though, most biafrans are daft, I'm Igbo by the way

    3. No, you are not igbo in any way just an efulefu who is not proud enough to have a name or a picture. You should be one of the igbos murdered in the north. A willing Slave. Tell me what you stand to gain as an igbo man living in Nigeria. I'm sure you are not in igboland and you are yet very comfortable with that. Ewu Hausa

    4. Faceless man, so so stupid. So I'm not a reasonable igbo man because I've a contrast opinion from rochas okorocha? You think like a slave.
