FG warns International Community to steer clear Nigeria’s internal problem

The Federal Government has warned the International Community against interfering in Nigeria‘s internal problem.

This warning follows the ongoing battle by the government to flush out the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) from the South East.

Senior Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Prosecution, Barrister Okoi Obono-Obla gave the order on Saturday when he spoke to us on telephone.

He said that other countries including Iraq have their problems and it was their governments that dealt with them.

“International Community cannot interfere with our internal affairs, every country has the right to control its internal affairs. In Iraq there is a problem there, the government is dealing with it, in Syria, the government is dealing with their problem and in the United States, there are problems which the US government is dealing with, so they cannot tell us how to deal with our own internal affairs,” Obla said.

He further said, “There is nothing like international community, it is a propaganda. If anything happens in Nigeria, the whole West African community will be destabilised. If the South East desire peace, they will have peace, the people should come out and condemn in totality what these miscreants called IPOB are doing, they should excommunicate them, we don’t need it.”

On the invasion of military in Aba, Obono-Obla said “The Military did not invade Aba, I disagree with you, and the President has the constitutional power to deploy the military to anywhere there is security reports of possible break down of law and order.

“The military’s job is to protect the territorial integrity of Nigeria and also to ensure that there is no internal break down of law and order. These people have been threatening and declared Cross River, Kogi, Benue, Rivers, Balyelsa, Akwa Ibom, Abia, Imo, and Anambra states as so called Republic of Biafra.”

“And they have been recruiting Biafra National Guards, recruiting Biafra security service and the President of the Country who has taken oath of office, who has swore by the constitution to defend the constitution, to defend Nigeria’s territorial integrity cannot fold his arms, so why do you call it an invasion, it is not, so if the military moves to Cross River to maintain law and order you call that an invasion, it is not please.”

“The action of IPOB is condemnable, it is stupid. For instance, I am from Cross River state; how can they declare Cross River state as part of the republic of Biafra without the consent of the people of the state, how can they declare Akwa Ibom as Biafra State,Delta, Edo, Kogi, Benue, as Biafra states, how can they declare any part of Nigeria as Biafra state? It is impossible and provocative,” he said.

The Special Adviser noted that, “They went ahead to form security forces, Biafra security forces, Biafra National Guard which is unconstitutional. The only approved security forces in Nigeria is the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Police, DSS, Civil Defence, you cannot form a militia group and say it’s your army, it is wrong, no nation can tolerate that.”

He said that the President has been very calm over this provocative act by IPOB , saying he has been very patient in the past two years. ”They have been blocking roads, collecting taxes, extorting money from people, flying Biafran flag all over the place, I mean these are all provocative act.

“They have been burning houses, burning police stations, attacking innocent Nigerians living in the South South and South East, these acts are tantamount to declaring war on the Federal Government. International community cannot interfere with our internal affairs, every country has the right to control its internal affairs,” he stressed.

  1. Then, please withdraw your membership of international organization. you can not be a member of these organization and break the rules and regulations of these organization. you are a member of United Nations and one of their rules is to uphold human right of citizens. you don't use the military against civilian population. That is against the human right treaty

  2. @ Charles...Are you now saying that a group of individuals can come together and hold other citizens to random with a shabbily orchestrated freedom fight? Oga your freedom stops where other people's freedom start. Don't ever forget that.

    2. @Ifeanyi you said I speak without reason or did you mean reasoning? Your cohorts said their Biafra consist of States like Cross River (mind you that's my maternal home) Akwa Ibom,Benue etc. Did they have a sense of reasoning to consult these people before lumping them up in their senseless violent agitation? Better don't deceive yourself because you'd be worse off if you go the way of war. The international community won't waste their resources fighting for you. A word is enough for the wise!

  6. Having read above article attributed to Senior Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Prosecution, Barrister Okoi Obono-Obla. This shows the reason why Nigeria is in the state it is at the moment.
Operation Python Dance2 is not necessary at this time when there is so much tension in the country. Still PMB adviser/s convinced him that the operation is a way to go. Charles comments are in order.
Lanre, your question "that a group of individuals can come together and hold other citizens to random with a shabbily orchestrated freedom fight?" Your answer is IPOB did not hold other citizens to ransom. They were peacifully agitating for Biafra but Buhari came back from London and was advised that Python Dance is his best option to keep Nigeria together. What a country. I live in London, why should I care? I care because THERE IS NO EXCUSE UNDER THE SUN TO WASTE PEOPLE'S LIVES IN THE NAME OF KEEPING NIGERIA TOGETHER.

    1. Maybe the word peaceful mean another thing in your dictionary. You declare a country within a country and form your National Guard and call it peaceful? That is felony of the highest order. I am not in support of either groups. The agitation might be needful but the approach shows lack of wisdom or planning. I stand for a restructured Nigeria where justice and equity is the watchword. This present government cannot assure this, however I do not subscribe to harassment in any disguise. IPOB is putting the people of the East at harms way. I am not in support of their approach.

Is only stupid and bastard Nigeria a that will support activities of IPOB though some big head with little brain were in support but the fact is that IPOB has been proscribed and has been proscribed for life let the waiters continue their wailing. No serious gov will sit on the fence and watch the atrocities being committed by the so call thuggery PMB is our president and we have just only one nation for now so no any thuggery can divide Nigeria no matter how it may be. IPOB is a terrorist and can't be another problem for Nigeria better we cut them down prematurely. If these useless IPOB and their brainless supporter don't know the meaning of war let them ask from their forefather who have witnessed it once IPOB and his supporters are criminal and can't destroyed our own country we don't have any other nation but Nigeria let their supporter and brainless Co associate commentators have it at back of their brain that there is no room for war in Nigeria Gob less Nigeria our country

  12. I Always wonder for people who have been saying IPOB are peaceful armless Group, which I Totally disagree with. When you look at Videos where the Gang of Criminals are Hunting other tribes in the Commercial Vehicles for them to kill innocent people and a Viral Video where they setting Hausa people ablaze and Still Some Idiots using Religion and ethnicity in order to Achieve their political Mission without minding that who ever will die let him die. For those who are calling for international community to watch you should keep on Calling them, but when the real war started you will be regretting your in actions after you became refugees in your own country. IPOB and Nmandi KANU have been Insulting Buhari so Much as their President wether they like it or not and I even blame him for too much patience for the gang of Criminals but it's seems like their cup is full, let the law of the land take its course against the bunch of Criminals.

  14. It is only an illiterate ...or someone who has been mentally and intellectually incapacitated that will drive the course of Biafra. You all have been Brainwashed ...thank God the enlightened ones are not part of your ranks. KANU IS RALLYING OTHER PEOPLE'S CHILDREN TO FIGHT THE COURSE OF BIAFRA AND SOME HAVE DIED WHILE HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN ARE IN THE UK ADVANCING THEIR CAREER. THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT A MAN AND HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN. IF KANU HAD THESE HEAR, HE WOULD NOT BE FIGHTING THIS WAR FEARLESSLY. DEY KILL YOURSELF...

THIS IS NOT THE ROOT OF NIGERIA'S PROBLEM. IF ALL THE RICH IGBOS WERE INVESTING IN THEIR STATE NO ONE WOULD BE TALKING ABOUT A BIAFRA..YOU ARE ALL JUST THERE FOR YOUR GAIN...

  16. When I read through comments of people even when it concerns the lost of human lives, I begin to wonder how terrible God our maker must be feeling about us Nigerians. It is indeed a sorry situation. We have lost all sense of love, brother care and human kindness. We now take great joy in seeing others our brothers and sisters suffer. There is almost nothing left in this country other than hatred, division and animosity antipathy, hostility, friction, antagonism, acrimony, enmity, animus, bitterness, rancor, resentment, dislike, ill feeling/will, bad blood, hate, loathing and More. I don't know about you guys, but for me; I feel deeply pained and hurt when reading through comments made or hear Nigerians talk on issues as they affect us as individuals, as a people and as a nation.
