Why Buhari should not re-arrest Nnamdi Kanu – Reno Omokri

Former special assistant on new media to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has faulted Federal Government’s push to rearrest the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Omokri said President Muhammadu Buhari will be transforming the IPOB leader into a “demigod” by re-arresting him.

The former presidential aide insisted that Kanu was a “nonentity” before Buhari’s government arrested him.

He counselled Buhari to learn from former President, Olusegun Obasanjo who ignored the struggle for enforcement of Sharia law during his administration, which he said died a natural death.

In a series of tweets via his social media, Omokri said Buhari should focus on the country’s economy.

He wrote: “Nnamdi Kanu was a nonentity until Muhammadu Buhari arrested him. By rearresting Kanu, PMB will only turn him to a demigod and increase his influence
“If you’re yet to appreciate the benefit of enemies, look at Nnamdi Kanu. Without his enemy Buhari arresting him he’d have remained a nobody!
“Compare PMB to Obj. Obj ignored political shari’a and it died a natural death. PMB clamped down on Kanu and turned him into a superstar!
“Buhari should rather put the effort he is making to arrest Nnamdi Kanu into arresting the drift in an economy that is collapsing under him.”

  1. Reno, you just echoed my mind. I've said it severally, the Fed. Govt. contributed much in making the guy the demigod of his followers. Left for me, he would have been ignored and would fizzle out with time without being noticed. Now see what govt. has turned him into. Irresponsible fellow that has the effrontery to call his elders pigs, simply because they believe in one and indivisible Nigeria. He need to be tutored by the elders in his village.

  2. The people that clamoured for sharia law then we're not lawless and didn't ferment trouble like this man kanu or whatever he call himself so he should get ready for what he bargain for
