Buhari's speech: President’s broadcast was like a coup d’etat speech – Jibrin

Suspended member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has offered his opinion on President Muhammadu Buhari’s nationwide broadcast on Monday morning.

Jibrin, writing on his Twitter account, described it as speech “announcing a coup d’etat”.

He tweeted: “Fair for everyone to have ideas and expectations but I did not expect PMB to read a speech this morning like he is announcing a coup d’etat.”

It was the first time Buhari was addressing Nigerians, since he returned from the UK, where he had gone for medical treatment over 100 days ago.

The President in his brief broadcast, spoke about Nigeria’s unity, national security as well as the insurgency in the North-East.

  1. Absolutely a threatening and hateful speech. Very unfortunate indeed.
