The Peoples Democratic Party,
PDP, has accused the Federal Government under the leadership of President
Muhammadu Buhari of planning to truncate the nation’s democracy.
The party said that it was
totally wrong for security agencies to brutalise protesters.
It said it was unfortunate that
the Federal Government could ask the security agencies to brutalise citizens
who called on Buhari to either resume work or resign from office.
Spokesperson for the party, Dayo
Adeyeye, while speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday, called on Nigerians
to be at alert, saying the ruling party must be cautioned.
He said, “We have said it before and we will continue to say it: The Federal Government is planning to truncate the country’s democracy with its actions.
“There is no freedom of speech, no freedom of expression and no freedom of association.
“The PDP was in government and allowed protests; we never brutalised any protester.”
What we have is a head of states not a president. we are running a military government in Nigeria, that is why he thinks he can stay away from office more than 90days and still be rulling not leading us. What a country!
ReplyDeleteThe constitution allows him to stay more than 90days as long as the acting president is capable.The federal republic of Nigeria is silent on the duration. All other things now depend on the decision of FEC.
