The Reds have paid £35m for the 24-year-old with another £5m in add-ons.
The former Arsenal midfielder has signed a five-year contract with Jurgen Klopp’s club on £120,000-a-week, significantly less than he would have earned by signing a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.
