Nigeria’s problems bigger than one person – Jonathan

Immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan has admitted that the problem of Nigeria is bigger than one man to handle.

He said accusations and counter-accusation by opinion leaders would take the nation nowhere, stressing that there was need for Nigerians to put all hands on deck to push the nation forward.

Jonathan made this known through the former Secretary to the Federal Government, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, at the 5th Memorial Lecture of late Professor Celestine O. E. Onwuliri, at Nnarambia Mbaise on Friday.

Celestine Onwuliri was among the over one hundred people, who lost their lives on Sunday, 3rd June, 2012, when a McDonnell Douglas MD-83 aircraft crashed in Lagos.

‘’People have said a lot of things about the problems of Nigeria. There is no point joining issues with anybody, but all I can say is that no one person can solve the nation’s problems,” Jonathan said.

In his speech, the former Imo State Governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, lamented that the fellow who flew the ill-fated Dana Airline that claimed the life of Professor Celestine Onwuliri and other Nigerians, was not certified as a pilot.

Yes, u are so right Mr former President but it takes one person to start a good cause that others will follow. It takes a person to initiate a good leadership that others can emulate or compete against to beat. So, please don't use this truth to deceive others, to discourage others, or to cover up your inability and ur unwillingness to help Nigeria and Nigerians when u had the opportunity to do so. That's crap. U should have started somewhere. We know that the President, Mr Buhari can't do it all alone but at least, he has initiated something good that others can follow and point at as a good example to helping Nigeria and Nigerians. That's where it starts.

It's a big shame on u to be talking this way Mr former Imo state governor. U were part of the sinking boat and u never said anything to such things which I believe u knew was a problem in the Nigerian aviation industry due to ur position as a former whatever position u held. Now, u are pointing fingers to problems u should have rallied around for help to solve.

Where are we going now? What should be done to solving such an urgent problem as this? Claimed Pilots without being Pilots or licensed Pilots. Federal government of Nigeria should please help us to stop this Boko Haram in disguise as Pilots. If u fly any plane at all without being a Pilot or licensed Pilot while u claim to be one, u are nothing less than a modern Boko Haram member. Thank u for reading and crying out loud against this system, the system of flying planes without being a Pilot. Be blessed IJN.
