Former Super Eagles winger Femi Opabunmi has revealed how he was swindled by some pastors in the South West part of Nigeria in a bid for him to regain his sight.
Opabunmi recounted his ordeal ithat he suddenly lost his sight during training with his French second division side Niort in 2006.
And after two unsuccessful surgery in France, Opabunmi returned to Nigeria in search of a cure for his partial blindness but according to him he was duped.
"Many believed I was cursed, even my mother because in Paris the doctors medically said there was nothing wrong with my eyes," Opabunmi, one of the best players at the 2001 FIFA U-17 World Cup where he helped Nigeria reach the final, jounalists.
"Funds were given to me to survive by my former teammates (including Osaze Odemwingie) and well wishers. I gave pastors some of the money, hoping that if I got healed I would start afresh with a coaching career.
"I visited several churches and mountains in search of a cure but it never happened.
"They duped me of my small cash. I paid more than 400k to pastors to see that I got cured but nothing happened."
"I also went to see some Imams as well. But they all turned out to be false men of God who duped me all the way."
Oh so sorry for ur predicament Mr Femi Opabunmi. But u should have known that u were being duped when u were paying money for healing or when those so called Pastors were charging u for healing, something that is free, very free. I'm not talking about the Imams or Medical Doctors because I'm not in anyway or form an authority in Islamic teachings because I'm not a Muslim nor am I a Medical Doctor. I know and I'm sure that anyone becomes a Medical Doctor by training through a medical school that attracted a huge amount of financial power that needed to be paid back and as such should charge for treatment except such a heart is touched by God through His Holy Spirit not to charge, otherwise, u should pay for ur medical expenses. I don't know if Islam allows charges for healing or not BUT when we talk about Christianity, CHARGING for healing is an abomination. So, when u hear of any Pastor charging u for healing, what u should do is to take off ur shoes to enable u run out as fast as u can. So, sorry u helped in duping urself too. And please, I'm not being unsympathetic to ur condition, but the truth should be told. And u can't prove ignorance because u would have doubted those Pastors before paying them but u still went ahead to pay them and u got duped, sorry. These pastors will get it except they repent and change their life styles.
ReplyDeleteIt's not still too late to regain ur sight even after a long time of blindness. Who knows if the blindness is not going to lead u into salvation through ur faith in Jesus Christ? I realized by ur writing that u don't know Jesus Christ. I realized that u are not saved. If u are reading this, Mr Femi Opabunmi, pls let's start by accepting Jesus Christ, God's Son as ur Savior and Lord. Let's start by putting ur life in His hands and trusting Him with ur life. It's needless and unprofitable if u have ur physical sight and still end up in hell. "What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?" The answer is nothing but hell. Forget about sight for now and fight for a greater thing which is ur soul. If u lose ur soul, u are DONE FOREVER, FOR ETERNITY. Eternity in suffering and that's the last thing u want to do. If u seek Jesus Christ and u accept Him as ur Savior and Lord, even if ur sight is not restored, at least u will enjoy forever in ETERNITY. And who knows, ur sight may be restored in the physical by Jesus Christ being the only Healer. But whichever way, if u accept Jesus Christ into ur life, u see clearly ever AGAIN. The only eyes by which u can see clearly and never again be blind is that of Jesus and He is willing, standing by to lend u His if u ask Him but asking truthfully. Jesus Christ LOVES u so much, much more than anyone loves u. So, next time any PASTOR asks u to pay for healing, just walk away telling him, "Freely u received, freely u give." Receive God's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ today and the freedom from death, hell, bondage, and deception will be urs today. God bless u real good in Jesus Christ name, amen.
