Lawmaker representing Kaduna
Central, Senator Sani Shehu, has reacted to threat issued by a Northern group
that Igbos should vacate the North, saying no ethnic group has the right to
eject another ethnic group in the country.
Recall that the spokesperson of a
Northern Coalition group, Coalition of Northern Youths, CNY, Abdulaziz
Suleiman, had ordered Igbos to vacate the region in three months.
Speaking yesterday, Suleiman had
said the entire Northern Nigeria was done with coexisting with the Igbos and
was asking that “all Igbos currently residing in any part of Northern Nigeria
are hereby served notice to relocate within three months and all northerners
residing in the East are advised likewise.
“The persistence for the
actualization of Biafra by the unruly Igbo of South-Eastern Nigeria has lately
assumed another alarming twist which involved the forceful lockdown of
activities and denial of other people’s right to free movement in the South-East
by the rebel Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its overt and covert
sponsors.”
But reacting to the comment by
Suleiman, on Wednesday, the lawmaker maintained that Nigeria was a republic and
has come to stay.
Shehu took to his Facebook and wrote: “No region or any ethnic group has the right to eject or instigate an ejection of other ethnic group. This is a republic that has come to stay.
“In the past it overcame secession, ethnic and religious violence and shall always outlive those promoting it.”
Come to think of it, if Igbo lock down brought activities in the north to a grinding halt, it means that the northerners do nothing by way of services. How will they survive in the absence of their igbo nemesis?

POWER HAS BEEN IN THE NORTH SINCE INDEPENDENCE YET POVERTY WALKS THEREIN BAREFOOTED. AND THEIR YOUTHS ARE BRAINWASHED INTO THEIR BEGGARLY LIFE STYLE.
