Biafra: expelling Igbos from Northern Nigeria will have grave consequences – Fani-Kayode

The Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has said that there will be grave consequences if Igbos were kicked out of the North.

Fani Kayode stated this via his Twitter handle in reaction to the threat made by the Northern Coalition Groups.
The ex-Minister maintained that kicking the Igbos out of the North would not help matters in the country but rather complicate the fragile state of the nation.
He said: “Threatening the Igbo and kicking them out of the north won’t help. This time round the Middle Belt and the whole south will stand with them.”
“We want peace by restructuring and not violence. Unleashing genocide against the Igbo or anyone else in north will have grave consequences,” he added.

It could be recalled that a coalition of Northern Youth Groups tagged, “The Kaduna Declaration” had given all Igbos residing in any part of Northern Nigeria three months to relocate to their places of origin. They had described the igbos as ungrateful and uncultured. (read HERE)

  1. Nothing like restructuring, you have clamoured for Biafra and this is the time, you have been insulting northerners and now you're saying it's not now, you can't decide for us . We have to separate from each other final

  2. Fani Kayode it shows clearly now that you think with your butt and not with the head. Also, you are a shallow thinker. Last two weeks, you wrote that the concorted amalgamation was a marriage of incompatible couples. You abused the Northerners and of the strong opinion that each part should go on its own.
Today, that the north is ready and determined to go their way, you changed the tune. If kicking out of Igbos from the north won't work, how on earth will the secession of Biafra work?. Do you think that after the actualization of Biafra, the Igbos will have free access and unlimited rights to live and do business in the north or in the west? Or after divorce, will the couple sleep together on the same bed under the same roof again?.

The northern youths are now ready to take the bull by the horn by declaring that they are not ready and no longer interested in having the same citizenship with the Igbos, that is a good step towards self-actualization. People like you are all of the opinion before now that the north cannot stand alone, but i tell you, if they choose to do that, their situation cannot be worse that that of Niger, Mali or Somalia or any other landlocked countries in Africa, yet they are still living and recognized as countries.

The north is telling everyone now including the yorubas the likelihood of things to come after disintegration of the country.

What we need now is not disintegration or structural adjustment of political structures in Nigeria, but severe punishment for people like you throughout the length and breadth of Nigeria who mismanaged our economy and embezzled or wasted our resources while in public offices or government. Also, a capital punishment for the judges who have turned themselves to puppets in the hands of the politician and perverse judgment. A judge sentenced a man to life imprisonment for stealing governor's cell phone and another one just fined somebody who stole billions of pensioners fund without asking him to return the funds! Different strokes for different folks. If a student should cheat in an examination, the punishment is 21 years in prison but a whole lawmaker was just fined 20 dollars for falsification of certificate - the Toronto saga! in the same country where we say justice and peace shall reign.
