Acting President Osinbajo meets Igbo leaders

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is currently meeting with leaders of thought from the southeast at the Old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting is over the perennial agitation for Biafra and last week’s reaction by northern youths asking the Igbos to vacate the region by October 1.

In attendance are Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, the governors of Imo Enugu, Ebonyi and Anambra States as well as other leaders from the southeast.

Osinbajo was joined by Senate President Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara.

  2. WHAT WAS THEIR DELIBERATIO ON? I HOPE HE IS NOT GRAND-STANDING? LEAVING NIGERIA MAY NOT BE THE ONLY OR BEST OPTION BUT LET NIGERIA BE RESTRUCTURED TO CATER FOR ALL. EACH REGION OR STATE SHOULD CONTROL ITS RESOURCES AND REMIT AGREED PERCENTAGE TO THE CENTRE, JUST LIKE WAS THE SCENARIO IN PRE-INDEPENDENCE PERIOD AND THE FIRST SIX YEARS AFTER. OWNERSHIP OF OIL BLOCKS/WELLS BY NORTHERNERS TO THE DETRIMENT OF THE NIGER DELTANS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THE NNPC MUST BE SCRAPPED. THIS ISSUE OF ON-SHORE AND OFF-SHORE IMBROGLIO SHOULD BE SCRAPPED TOO. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Jay 2, Abuja.
