The five babies, all girls were born on April 12 at the National Hospital Abuja.
However, the couple has pointed out that though they are overjoyed to have the children, they will require the support of well-meaning Nigerians to make the whole experience successful.
“I am delighted and I thank God to have blessed us with these healthy children, I know it is a huge responsibility because it is not easy to raise even one child,” Udehi told reporters.
“I am, however, appealing to the government, well-meaning Nigerians and corporate organisations to come and support my family in raising the children.”
His wife, a staff of Nigerian Population Commission Abuja added that the family, currently residing in a one-bedroom apartment will definitely need a bigger apartment and money to meet the needs of the newborns.
“My husband is presently searching for a job and I am a civil servant with Nigerian Population Commission in Abuja. We both live in one bedroom apartment in Lugbe because that is what we can afford,” she said.

ReplyDeleteNext to incompetence which ranks first, child bearing ranks second as the biggest problems of third world countries. I hope he gets the support needed to ensure those kids have a great future. It's their right.
DeleteWe have been bastardized with this notion that once you marry and have children your material blessings will increase. And a few coincidences have been used as testimonies. So jobless people are getting married fast. If the blessings don't come through the wife, they add children. If the blessings don't still come, they add more children. And if the blessings don't still come, their wife is a witch or their wife's people are after them. They forget that God has already given everybody access to children so the unbelievers have children as well. We jump on traditional and religious dogmas to justify our laziness. It's so sad to know that even if this family had one child they would still have struggled. So why do it? Children have destinies and are not toys for adult entertainment.
