Nigerians are already seeing the change we promised - Lai Mohammed

Nigeria’s minister of information, culture and tourism Lai Mohammed said that the 'change' promise of the ruling party has started manifesting.

Lai Mohammed made the claim during an interview session with Sun newspaper. He said, “Let’s look at it, number one, we promised change and that change has come. There is change today from impunity to accountability and it means a lot. There is a change today from corruption to integrity, it means a lot.

“There is a change today in the way people view corruption than the way they use to view it before. You will never live your flamboyant lifestyle again. In 2014 or thereabout when the former President went to Kenya, there were about 100 private jets that went with him.”

''What we did not know was the level of dirt and rottenness, the level of dirt and corruption is what we did not get. We knew things were bad but we did not know things were these bad. We did not know before we came in that there was no savings at all, we did not know before we came in, the madness and scale of indiscipline and impunity.

“ So if anybody says we are overwhelmed, yes we are overwhelmed but not by the work but by the level of rottenness and we want to clean this rottenness and this is what we have been doing. It doesn’t matter what vision you have but if you don’t have the money to execute it is as if you are doing nothing,” he said.

  1. Am sorry to say this, your failed promises to Nigerians has brought about hardship and Austerity to Nigerians, your failed promises has brought about economic crises in every part of the nation causing commodities to raise as high as a rocket launcher. Please your APC lead government should take Nigerian back to 2015 Jan. Since you came into power Nigerians lives has never been same. I never knew APC was a sickness until the mystery was reviled, when the economy system turned up-side-down.

  4. Oh yes oooo, Baba Lai, we have seen it, the failures and woes of your so called change!. $1 to NGN305, 145NGN per litre, abject darkness, galloping commodity price, stamp duty charge, increase in data tariff, genocide/extermination of the christians in southern Kaduna and other parts of the country! These are shocking and choking change you promised us. Well done sir. Only that your best is not good enough at this material time. Plssssssssssss!!!!!!! change your game plan, Nigerians are hungry and hungry man is a angry man. Change your economic policies, swallow your pride and invite technocrats who can help channel the course of our economy towards meeting this 21st century era. People in your government schooled when garbage economy was the order of the day but now, we are in knowledge based economy. It is not the vast of deposit of mineral resources that you have that matter now but the knowledge to provide cutting edge services is the order of the day.
