Manchester City fined £35,000 for breaking anti-doping rules


The Football Association has fined Manchester City £35,000 after they accepted a charge of breaching anti-doping rules.


The punishment was imposed following an independent regulatory commission hearing.

City admitted failing to ensure their “club whereabouts” information was accurate.

Clubs are required to provide the FA with times of training sessions, home addresses of players, etc. in order to facilitate drug testng.

City were charged after failing to comply with this requirement three times in the space of 12 months.

“Following an independent regulatory commission hearing, Manchester City have been fined £35,000 and warned as to their future conduct after admitting a breach of the FA’s rules on anti-doping,” a statement from the FA read.

“City were charged with failing to ensure their ‘club whereabouts’ information was accurate, contrary to Regulation 14(d).”
