VIDEO: 'Go and do your worst' - Oyo state governor blasts students protesting closure of their school for 8 months.

Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi has told protesting students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) to go and do their worst following protests after the closure of their school for 8 months.

In a video shared by Sahara TV, Ajimobi who was addressing the students said as the constituted authority in the state he should not be disrespected.

At a point during the address, the governor ordered policemen to bring a student who seemed to speak up against him. He later told the policemen not to bother, after some resistance from the students.

The governor also stated that they should have come to beg him, not protest. 'You should have come to say, boss please they shut our school' Ajimobi said in Yoruba language

'I am the constituted authority' he boasted.

  4. This is serious. This is leader indeed. As i do not support being rude to elders, Leaders should mind the way they talk when they are provoked.

  12. I must confess, I am utterly disappointed to see a Governor of a State arrogantly saying is was the constituted authority to the people who voted him as their governor. Governor Ajimobi should have control his demenour by applying some degree of caution by not arrogating to himself that people who voted him to office as governor should always be respected. That is politics. These so called students have parents who invested heavily on these students. To see them wallowing for survival in the hands of powerful government agencies, is unfortunate. I am not saying lack of respect to the constituted authority like the governor is sensible, but the approach from the governor ought to have been diplomatically handled. LAUTECH needs to move forward. The original concept of establishing the institution should be maintained not ignored. Let all authorities come together to bring about peace to the institution. Conclusively, I would suggest the Federal Government should take over the institution because of it usefulness to the country.
