Super Falcons' Officials Thrown Out Of Hotel

Officials and coaches of the Super Falcons, who are protesting the non-payment of their entitlements, have been thrown out of the team’s Abuja hotel on the orders of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The officials are led by coach Florence Omagbemi, who recently made history when she led Nigeria to continental both as a captain and coach.

The officials are on the payroll of the NFF.

The Falcons have been on a sit-in protest at the Agura Hotel in Abuja since they returned from the women’s AFCON in Cameroon 10 days ago.

The officials are therefore not part of today’s protest march, which has now been re-routed to the National Assembly, where Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari will present next year’s budget today.

Falcons want to be paid in full their match bonuses and allowances from the AWCON.

They have also not been paid match bonuses for several other official matches dating back to last year.

The Falcons are the country’s most successful football team after they won a record eighth women’s AFCON at the expense hosts Cameroon a fortnight ago.

  1. How can NFF say they don't have funds to pay the players but the NFF boss is putting up $1m for a hit on CAF. What a shame on we Nigerians.

  2. Don't kill the spirits of our ladies. What kind of leadership and people do we have in this country. We also live in a country where you work and get paid. It's rare your salary or entitlement is delayed. That is why Westerners don't respect us. It is unfortunate!!! USA also went into recession and people still lived and they were never owed salaries or entitlements.
