According to recent reports, the federal government has reportedly drastically reduced the salaries of all civil servants in ministries, departments and parastatals for the month of November 2016.
According to Leadership News, some workers were said to have received cuts as high as 50 per cent while others could not even determine how much had been deducted.
The workers claimed that they learnt of the salary cut when an internal memo dated Wednesday, November 30, 2016 was made available to them same day.
The reasons for the deduction were due to tax, pensions and national housing fund
Findings revealed that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Public Complain Commission (PCC) last month were respectively under lock and key as a result of payment of half salaries while many others joined in November.

This is a misleading and mischievous headline. From the story, it seems to be a case of normal deductions that should have been carried out on a monthly basis but were not deducted and are now being deducted at a go as the year comes to an end. This does not amount to a reduction in salaries! NE needs to grow up and be more mature in reporting!
