Expenditure breakdown of 2017 budget

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has presented the 2017 appropriation bill to a joint session of the National Assembly.



Here are the breakdown of the budget:

Oil : N1.985tn

Non-oil: N1.73tn

Independent: N807bn

Recoveries: N565bn

Other Sources: N210.9bn

N419bn - Statutory Transfers

N1.66tn - Debt Service

N2.9tn - Non-Debt Recurrent Exp

N2.24tn - Capital Exp

Capital provisions in the 2017 budget is N2.24tn

Capital expenditure allocation:

Defence, N140bn;

Water resouces N85bn;

Interior N63bn;

Education N58bn;

UBE commission N92bn;

FCT N37bn

Top Recurrent Expenditure:

Interior - N482bn

Education - N398bn

Defence - N325bn

Health - N252bn

    This budget is Concotted to justify the need for borrowing.
    They may make the budget to sail through but they have fooled nobody

  3. My dear President, l am not doubting your honesty and integrity, but how am l sure that this our 2017 budget is not padded again. Pls dont go and borrow for the sake of this 2017 budget but rather source the fund locally and save the nation from been plunged from economic recession to economic depression
