Edo Governor Obaseki urges Kumuyi to pray for end of economic recession

The Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, yesterday disclosed that the peaceful conduct of the governorship election in the state was due to prayers, and called for prayers from religious bodies to end the current economic recession in the country.

The Governor, was said this in Benin, the state capital, when the General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, paid him a courtesy visit at Government House.

Obaseki, represented by his deputy, Philip Shaibu, said Pastor Kumuyi’s visit to the state was apt and a divine call.

He said, “In our state, we have a brand new Oba, in the person of Oba Ewaure II, and a brand new leadership. We believe that with this programme, Showers of Blessing, God’s hand is in Edo, and as a state we would want to tap from the anointing.
