Diego Costa is set to be offered a new deal worth £200,000 at Chelsea, according to several reports in the British media.
The Spain international is the Premier League’s top scorer with 13 goals in 16 appearances this season and his current deal expires in June 2019.
Costa moved to Stamford Bridge from Atletico Madrid before the 2014 World Cup in a £32million deal and has scored 50 times for the Blues. He has also won the Premier League and League Cup with the London team.
The 28-year-old was linked with a return to Spain, but new manager, Antonio Conte convinced him to stay and his impressive form has seen Chelsea embark on a run of 11 consecutive wins in the league.
Costa will, however, not be available for their Boxing Day clash at home to Bournemouth after picking up his fifth booking of the season.
