#Ondo election: APC sets up Control Centre, Situation Room


Ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Ondo state, the National Working Committee NWC of the All Progressives Congress APC has set up a ‘Control Room’ at the parties national secretariat in Abuja to coordinate activities relating to the elections.


The decision was reached at Tuesday’s meeting of the NWC. In a statement issued to journalists shortly after the meeting, the NWC also announced the creation of a ‘Situation Room’ which will be coordinated by its Deputy National Chairman (South), Engr. Segun Oni along with five others.

The situation room would be deployed in Ondo state.

The statement by the party reads: “The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Segun Oni will lead a six-member team from the Party’s National Leadership to coordinate the Party’s Situation Room for the November 26, 2016 governorship election in Ondo State.

“The decision was reached after a meeting of the Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) on Tuesday. “Other members of the team are the National Vice Chairman (South-West), Chief Pius Oluwole Akinyelure; National Vice Chairman (North-West), Inuwa Abdul-Kadir, Esq; Zonal Youth Leader (South West), Adedotun Oluwasegun; Zonal Woman Leader (South West); Kemi Nelson and a Party Chieftain, Hon Acho Obioma”. It said the Party’s Situation Room is expected to liaise with the Control Centre which will be situated at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
