NPFL clubs waiting on LMC for take-off grants ahead of new season

Most Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clubs, are still waiting on the League Management Company (LMC), for a take-off grant as they continue to prepare for the new season.

The clubs need the funds to clear players they have recruited in the close season, while others need it to embark on pre-season tours.

“May be by the time the LMC pays, we can go for a pre-season camp,” one the club officials told AfricanFootball.

“You know this is a government club who run with a budget from the government that has not been approved talk less of released.

“That is why we are still hoping LMC will come to our rescue so that we can start full preparation. Training tours and camps as well as test matches all need money.”

The 2016/2017 NPFL season is scheduled to commence in the first week of December .
