Like Buhari, Clinton says she wants to be president for everybody

With the election day looming on Tuesday, Democratic Hillary Clinton has pledged that if elected, she will unify a country divided by one of the bitterest presidential campaigns in American history, as she began making her closing arguments to millions of voters on Monday.

She said, “I really do want to be the president for everybody, people who vote for me, people who vote against me.”

“I have some work to bring the country together,” the Democratic nominee told reporters as she boarded a plane for the first of four final-day rallies.

Recall that Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari had first given such unifying statement after being elected the president when he aptly said he belonged to nobody and as well belonged to everybody.

This goes a long way to show the importance of unity in a country as a precondition for greater national growth.
