Buhari fires tourism boss, Sally Mbanefo

Mrs. Sally Mbanefo, the Director General of the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), has been sacked.

The Director General has been asked to hand over the affairs of NTDC to the next most senior officer.

The removal of the Chief Executive was contained in a November 27, 2016 letter which was signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir David Lawal.

The letter was titled “Notification of de-secondment from the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC).

“I refer to the attached letter, Ref. No. SGF.6/S.23/1/568 of 8th October, 2013 in respect of your secondment from the Keystone Bank Limited to serve as Executive Director/ Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) for a period of two years with effect from 6th May 2013. “You may note from the foregoing that the period of your secondment at the corporation had since lapsed on 5th May 2016.

“Consequently, you are to handover the affairs of the corporation to the most senior officer on or before Wednesday, 30th November, 2016.”

    1. It took the presidency 6 months to find out that such a high position was still being occupied illegally. Problem dey oh!!!
This government clearly has lost track of "what is" and "what isn't".

  2. many people are so foolish that they always want to turn everything into evil so that people may talk evil of their leaders forgetting that it's only satanic people that can be ruled by Satan.

    1. Herein lies the problem of Nigeria. Spiritualizing everything. What makes a people satanic? is it their unbelief in your belief? Countries that don't believe in the existence of satan are moving forward. Are they satanic? Countries with varying religions are moving forward despite having leaders of varying religions and even atheist. Are they satanic?
People (some africans - especially nigerians) are so lazy to think that every single thing is only prayer. To buy toothpick, prayer, to wear shoe, prayer, rule a country, prayer. Who does the Chinese President/people pray to? Is it your God? So how are they ruling their country? Who do the presidents/people of japan and other countries pray to? Until Nigerians wake up and realize that the leadership of this country is in their hands to be implemented based on the thoughts of their BRAINS, we'll keep running from crusade to crusade. If all the powerful men of God holding MIRACULOUS, OVERPACKED and OVERJAMMED crusades every year (january and december) can't pray for this country, then it tells you the problem of Nigeria is NOT PRAYER. In the bible, ONE prophet shut the sky of rain. One prophet produced water out of a rock and fed a whole race of people, one prophet (mesiah) fed 5000 people with 5 loaves and 2 fish, and said we'll do greater works. Countries that don't hold such crusades are moving forward. 50% OF THE TOP 10 PASTORS IN THE WORLD ARE NIGERIANS YET NO PROGRESS. WAKE UP AND MOVE FORWARD. PROGRESS IS A PHYSICAL DELIBERATE ACTION, YOU DON'T PRAY IT, YOU DO IT.
You talk of Understanding and support? How do you support or understand a government that clearly doesn't know its left from its right? It took the Nigerian president 6 months after swearing in to name key members of his cabinet, meaning he never had a plan neither did he have an execution strategy up until then. Donald Trump has just won election and before being sworn in has named key members of his cabinet. Did he have to pray first? No, because he has a plan and an execution strategy.
