Algeria Name Team To Start Against Nigeria

Leicester City stars Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani are expected to start for Algeria in tomorrow’s world Cup qualifier against Nigeria in Uyo.

Several reports have indicated that coach Georges Leekens will go for a 4-3-3 formation with Mahrez and FC Porto star Yacine Brahimi running the flanks for top striker Slimani.

On-form Schalke 04 midfielder Nabil Bentaleb will lead an offensive engine room that also has Saphi Taider with Carl Medjani (CD Leganes,Spain) as a defensive screen for a four-man defence of full backs Faouzi Ghoulam, Mohamed Ziti as well as central defenders Hicham Belkaroui (Esperance of Tunisia) and Aissa Mandi (Real Betis).

Algeria are prepared to risk at left back Napoli star Ghoulam, who has been nursing a groin injury, while ziti from Entente Setif is the only home-based player.

Goalkeeper Rais M’Bolhi, who is currently without a club, will be between the posts.

Likely Algeria starting XI (4-3-3):

M’Bolhi – Ziti, Ghoulam, Belkaroui, Mandi – Medjani, Taider, Bentaleb – Mahrez, Brahimi, Slimani
