Akeredolu’s victory means Nigerians still love APC – Dogara

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, said on Sunday that the emergency of Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu as the Governor-Elect of Ondo State meant that the All Progressives Congress remained a popular political party loved by Nigerians.

Dogara stated this in a message to congratulate Akeredolu.

The former President of the Nigerian Bar Association had polled 237,812 votes to beat his closest rival, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Jegede scored 145,367 votes, while a third candidate, Mr. Olusola Oke of the Alliance for Democracy, got 104,111 votes.

The results were announced by the Chief Returning Officer appointed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Abdul Ganiyu-Ambali.

Dogara also said the victory was an indication that Nigerians trusted the APC and its policies to transform Nigeria.

Part of a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Mr Turaki Hassan, read, “The election of Akeredolu and the APC in Ondo state is a clear indication of the popularity of our political party.

“I would like to congratulate my learned colleague on his victory at the poll, and also commend our great party, the All Progressives Congress, for a thorough and successful campaign.”

Nigerians are tired of this APC led federal government. Doing things this way will only explode nigeria. Look into this in the floor of the house.

Am ashamed of this country since PDP did their worse many years past, I tot APC came as a revolution party to put Nigeria in order, but wat is cooking now shows that Buhari is a master Rigger. This country can't be good, many Nigerians have lost confidence in Buhari.
