U-17 Women World Cup: Flamingoes Face Early Exit After England Draw

Nigeria's Flamingoes and England played out a 0-0 draw in their Group C fixture at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Jordan on Tuesday.

The Nigerian girls who started their campaign in the competition  with a 1-0 defeat against Brazil began the game brightly but like in their opening fixture struggled to create any real openings.

It was however England who carved out the first real chance of the game in the 23rd minute when George Stanway's effort was well saved by Chiamaka Nnadozie.

The best chance of the half fell to Nigeria in the 33rd minute but Mary-Ann failed to steer the ball into the net.
It was England who dominated possession at the end of first half with 55 per cent to Nigeria's 45.

The Europeans were  also in ascendancy in the second half but were unable to find the winner as Nigeria created a number of half chances.

Both teams are now without a win in the competition following England's 3-3 draw against Korea DPR in their first group match
The Flamingoes will face Korea  in their last group game on Saturday needing a win to reach the second round.
