Nigerians react as Innoson Motors launches the IVM G6 SUV

Nigeria's first automobile brand, Innoson Motors, manufacturers of some nice and affordable cars, buses and SUVs recently launched this stunning SUV, "IVM G6" that got Nigerians talking.

In reaction to this achievement, many Nigerians applauded the indigenous automobile company and enjoined fellow countrymen and woman to patronize it.

Other Africans from countries like Ghana, Zimbabwe, also commended the Nigerian automobile company.

"I am a Zambian, but I must say I'm really impressed with your progress and determination. Keep flying high the African race," a foreigner commented.

Some also advised the company to set up its advertising strategy, as many people are still unaware of its products.

"Why is the company doing low-key? No adverts, nothing. Just one powerful advert is enough to bring Nigerians to you and make you go international...Mr Innoson... Just one," someone observed.

Another social media user claimed it was an achievement for the Igbo race and a step towards actualizing Biafra.

"If you wait for Nigeria to patronise Innosson Motors, you're wasting your time. I suggest all easterners should show the way. They should patronise their own first and stop going for Japanese cars. You cannot be talking about Biafra and yet you don't patronise a biafran car. Let's be objective. If all Igbos buy Innosson cars, I don't think the chairman of the company will have enough cars to meet demand," she said.

  1. I hope dos who can afford to purchase this splendor of a car will do so. This will encourage this brand to push harder and compete with brands of international reputation.

I pray for the day when this brand will fill Nigerian roads just like you have Ford in America or Peugeot in France or Mercedes Benz in Germany.

  2. The picture looks like that of a Toyota Forerunner or Highlander.

What parts of the car are actually made in Nigeria?
For those already calling for a ban on importation of SUVs in view of this production by Innoson, how many of these units can Innoson produce in a month?

  4. Thumbs up for Innoson. However, he is making the typical Nigerian (black man) mistake. he is waiting for government to advertise for him. What stops him from putting his advert on DSTV, StarTimes and the likes? Is he afraid that the venture wouldn't yield profit worthy of such extensive advertising? What stops him from entering a low grade international auto show? What stops him from inviting "The Stig" from Top Gear to perform a test drive advert?
In my opinion I think any of these options would be worth it. Okay, inviting The Stig might be a little over the top.

  6. Change should begin with the Federal Government. They should patronize mad in Nigeria. The President should lead the way by changing his luxury cars to Innoson to advertise it!
