Nigeria gets 4 new Assistant Inspectors General of Police

The Police Service Commission (PSC), on Friday approved the promotion of four Commissioners of Police (CPs) to the rank of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs).


The commissioners are: Henry Fadairo who was in charge of the Jigawa Command and Pius Imue who until now was Commissioner of Police, Railway Command.

Others are, Felix Ogundeji, Commissioner of Police, Intelligence, Force Headquarters and Ezekiel Zang, Commissioner of Police, Air Wing, Force headquarters.

The approval is contained in a statement, issued by Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission, in Abuja.
He said the commission’s decision had been conveyed to the Inspector-General of Police, Idris Ibrahim, for implementation.

Mr. Ani said the chairman of the commission, Mike Okiro, had congratulated the newly promoted officers and called for more commitment to duty on their part.

Mr. Okiro said their promotions were based on merit, seniority, availability of vacancies and dedication to duty.

He urged them to reciprocate government’s gesture by redoubling their efforts in the service of their fatherland.
