Lagos state to employ 1000 graduates as Bus Conductors



The National President of the Bus Conductors Association of Nigeria, BCAN, Comrade Israel Ade Adeshola through the Lagos State ministry of transportation said it would employ 1000 graduates from different Universities as Bus Conductors.

Comrade Adeshola in an interview with newsmen also disclosed that the new policy of the Lagos state government under the leadership of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is collaborating with the association to give Bus Conducting profession a new look. According to him, “presently Lagos state government through the Lagos State Drivers Institute, LASDRI is training and accrediting conductors in the state, adding that after the training the graduands would be employed as Bus Conductors and would be on the payroll of the government with a salary worth of N50,000 per month.

“The objective is to make the job of bus conducting attractive, respected and dignified as obtainable globally”, he said.

Adeshola explained that there is a project in the pipeline by the state government to change the face of transportation system to enhance security and also provide employment opportunity in the state. Speaking on the vision of the association, he said, since the establishment in 2008, it has been working relentlessly with the federal government through the national assembly as well as some state governments to establish its presence.

  1. At least, my sons and daughters, so that the huge sums spent by your parents will not be a waste. But by the way, Lagos state government should go ahead and open department of conductorlogy in our universities.

    1. Why complain. What is minimum wage for civil servant in the country? 18k and here a governor is offering 50k for conductor. Yet they are not university graduate. They are under going teaming after graduation they get jobs and get paid 50k. Let's look at it. Even if they are university graduates? Do you know numbers of graduates roaming the street of Nigeria jobless? Half bread is better than nothing. Since no light I'm off to Vietnam to charge my phone. BRB.

  7. l think this is far better than #5000 allowance to be giving to graduate.

    To be honest, how many companies paid graduate such salary in Nigeria?
    Let us appreciate the little one we have now as more will still come.

    Some of this graduate can manage their salary very well to invest it judiciary to become independent too.

    DON'T DESPISE THE LITTLE BEGINNING. At least minus 1000 jobless graduate is out
