Governor Okorocha Dissolves Heartland FC Board

The governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has relieved the management, staff and coaching crew of relegated Heartland of Owerri of their duties in the club.

Also dissolved is the Supporters Club of the outfit which ended the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League season on 18th position with 44 points and got relegated to the Nigeria National League.

Supervisor of the Club and Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of assembly, Ugonna Ozuruigbo, named Chibuzo Etuemena as new General Manager of the Club.

Etuemena was appointed as Chairman of the club about seven weeks before the end of last season.

He replaces former General Manager, Oscar  Keke, who has now been returned as Chief Operating officer of the club.

He further stated that a Technical Committee has been set up to advise on the composition of a new management team as well as technical crew with a view to ensuring immediate return of the club back to the elite division after just a season in the lower league.

The Technical Committee is led by Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri and also has Emeka Iwuagwu as member.
