Gary Lineker Lauds Iheanacho’s Goal Sense

Former England striker Gary Lineker has praised Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho’s goal scoring intelligence in Manchester City’s 1-1 home draw against Southampton at the Etihad on Sunday.

Iheanacho, who replaced Kevin De Bruyne, rescued City from defeat after scoring in the 55th minute.

It was his 11th English Premier League goal from just 17 shots.

The draw means City have now gone five games without a win in all competitions.

Reacting to Iheanacho’s goal, Lineker described it as the best example to score from such situation.

“How to score goals: attack area you gamble on, you’ll have an easy chance. Perfect example from Iheanacho,” the former Barcelona and Tottenham Hotpur striker, who was England’s record goal scorer for years, wrote on his Twitter handle.
