Why we whisked away judges – DSS reveals

The Department of State Services has given reasons why its operatives swept on the homes of some serving judges on Friday night.

It said the action was a follow up to what it described as an outcome of special sting operation which it said involved some judges of the Supreme, Appeal and High Courts.

A senior officer of the security agency, Mr. Abdullahi Garba, who spoke with journalists in Abuja on Saturday, insisted that the action would be sustained.

He said the operations were based on allegations of corruption and other acts of professional misconduct by a few of the suspected judges.

  5. The starting point is to search their houses and see if there are increminating things there. I don't see anything wrong with searching their houses based on reports/allegations . After all, police stop ordinary Nigerian car owners on the road everyday and search and if there is no increminating things, you are slowed to go, let alone when there are allegations against the judges. It is only when incriminating evidence are found in their houses that we can talk about arrest. As it is, if there are exhibits, the judge must have moved them out by now.
