Arms Deal: It's time to arrest Goodluck Jonathan - Lagos APC

The All Progressives Congress Lagos State Chapter has said anti-graft agencies should arrest former President Goodluck Jonathan for his statement about ex-NSA Sambo Dasuki not stealing $2.2bn.

In a statement by its publicity secretary, Joe Igbokwe on Thursday, the party said the statement proved he knew about the shady deals during his administration.

“To claim that Dasuki and his partners did not steal the arms purchase fund reveals the inner beliefs of Jonathan and explains that he is intrinsically webbed to corruption,” Igbokwe said.

While addressing a gathering on youth entrepreneurship at the Oxford Union, in the United Kingdom, Mr. Jonathan said it was impossible for Mr. Dasuki, a retired army colonel, to have stolen $2.2 billion as claimed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

“They said the National Security Adviser stole $2.2 billion,” Mr. Jonathan said while responding to a question about the alleged missing arms procurement fund now referred to as Dasukigate by the Nigerian media.

“I don’t believe somebody can just steal $2.2 billion. We bought warships, we bought aircraft, we bought lots of weapons for the army and so on and so forth and you are still saying 2.2 billion, so where did we get the money to buy all those things?”

The APC said there should be a limit to defending “such hefty corruption acts”, which greatly compromised the nation’s security and led to the loss of thousands of precious Nigerian lives.

  1. Chief Igbokwe, please make Una leave that clueless man(biko unu rapu okpo ahu). What will you do with him? Absolutely nothing. It will be a waste of time to arrest such an imbecile. Don't be surprised that tomorrow, if you ask him this same question, he will give you another stupid response or answer.

    1. Jeo Igbokwe has become a disgrace to Igbo race. He didn't know when he is being used by South West to show their disdain agsins the Niger Delta people. Recall that a lot of Niger Delta peoples abandoned their Igbo names and acquire Yoruba names thinking that Yoruba like them, hence Amaechi added Rotimi.Niger Deltans can't understand the Yoruba pretences for now
