Ambode seeks traders’ opinion on govt policies

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has concluded plans to visit markets around the state to interact with traders and obtain their views on his achievements.

The governor, who spoke through his Special Adviser on Community and Communications, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan, said expectations of traders from his administration would also be gathered during the visit.

Bamigbetan, in a statement on Monday, stated that five markets had been chosen for the pilot phase of the market activation campaign. They are Aiyetoro, Sabo, Sura, Oke-Odo and Alaba International/Rago markets.

He said, “The governor will visit these markets as a means of strengthening the relationship of the government with the Lagos market community by connecting with traders and communicating the numerous people-focused developmental activities of the government to the people.

“It is a fulfillment of the governor’s pledge that his government will be an all-inclusive government, which will focus on community development.”

Bamigbetan said the meeting with market stakeholders would be historic, adding that traders who had been law abiding and supportive of the state government’s initiatives would be rewarded.

“The colourful event will also serve to drive home the seriousness of the ‘No street trading advocacy of the government,” he added.
