2018 World Cup Qualifier: Algeria FA set to inspect facilities in Uyo Stadium

The Federation of Algeria Football, FAF, will be sending a five-man delegation to inspect facilities in Uyo ahead of the November 12 World Cup qualifier with Nigeria.

The delegation will be in Nigeria from October 12 to 15 October.

The delegation will be received in Lagos by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Vice-President, Sheyi Akinwunmi, from where they will fly to Uyo to see the stadium, training pitch and hotels as well as make transport arrangements for their fans and contingent.

Egypt, another North African country, made the same arrangement during the build up of the African Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifier against Nigeria and got the needed away draw against the Eagles in Kaduna.

Meanwhile, the Algerian team is expected to land in Uyo on November 10 for the crucial Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying match against the Super Eagles.

The players and their officials will travel aboard Air Algeria flight from Algiers for the game.

The game will be played on November 12 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

The Desert Foxes began their campaign with a disappointing 1-1 home draw against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon last weekend.

The federation sacked Serbian coach, Milovan Rajevac, on Tuesday, and the FAF are looking to appoint a substantive coach before the match.
