We'll blow up NNPC Headquarters if Patience Jonathan is arrested - Militants

Niger Delta militants have threatened to blow up the headquarters of the NNPC if Nigeria's ex-First Lady, Patience Jonathan is arrested, following her investigation by the EFCC.

Dame Patience had claimed that she owns some millions of dollars the EFCC froze, as part of investigations into an alleged fraud. Several bodies had called for her arrest if she could't explain how she came about the money she's laying claim to.

The Niger Delta Peoples Professional Volunteer Force (NDPPVF), have however threatened to blow up the headquarters of the nation's oil firm if she is arrested.

“Nobody is above the law. The NDPPVF does not support or condone corruption. If Mrs. Jonathan was found to be corrupt, we shall not hesitate to call for her prosecution," the group said on Wednesday.

“We, however, have a grouse with the modus operandi of Mrs. Jonathan’s investigation, given her status as the wife of a former deputy governor, former governor, former vice-president, former acting president and finally, former president. She is perhaps, the only Nigerian woman – dead or alive – with such an impressive and fortuitous pedigree; which accounts for why the EFCC needs to thread with caution.

“Recently, there have been calls on the Attorney-General of the Federation as well as the EFCC to arrest and prosecute the former First Lady for alleged money laundering.

“We shall simultaneously bomb the 4 wings of the NNPC Towers the day it is announced that Mrs. Patience Goodluck Jonathan has been arrested.

The group added that "before her husband emerged as vice-president in 2007, the EFCC investigated Mrs. Jonathan and cleared of any wrongdoing.”

  3. I try to be as civil as possible and refrain from insults as much as they people in d news may deserve it.

But this is the height of stupidity, this is d height of madness. This is complete irresponsibility on the part of this so called militants. How many of you have #5,000 to your name. How many of you will benefit #5 from that money.

Honestly it will be a good idea to share dis countries so people will wake up and direct their anger at the right source.

I don't agree with d fight on corruption on d pages of newspapers. But mama P has a case to answer, she will answer. When she was in power she used her power's against Turai Yaradua and collected a land belonging to her in central area for a so called first ladies mission office.

Am beginning to side with dos saying Jonathan has a hand in NDA if not they come out in defense of his wife like that.

  4. Jonathan Goodluck and his kinsmen have just shown Nigerians what they are up to. So they set up Niger Delta Avengers and other militants to cause chaos in the land. What a shame!!! This is the same man who said that no persons blood is worth spilling for any other mans sake. Criminals in disguise.

  5. Continue to bomb everything. When you are through, you will have nothing else than yourselves to bomb. Thank you for indirectly telling us one of your sponsors. EFCC should go ahead to arrest and prosecute her. GEJ was advised to go after the looters of the nation's wealth when he came to power but declined. Buhari has made his intentions known that he will go after the corrupt people, so let him continue. When another person gets there, he has the choice to either prosecute or promote corrupt office holders and their associate. Patience knew before hand that her hands are not clean. Remember her utterances shortly before the election when she was talking to the women in east that if Buhari should win the election, their husbands will go to jail.
