Senate to summon President Buhari over economic recession

The National Assembly have agreed to summon President Muhammadu Buhari to the senate assembly to answer questions on what his government is doing to tackle the economic recession and alleviate the suffering Nigerians are experiencing.

At a meeting between the Blue and Green chambers on Wednesday, the legislators unilaterally agreed that it was a move in the right direction.

The lawmakers also agreed to ask Buhari to reshuffle his cabinet, especially the economic team, to inject fresh people with fresh ideas to take the nation out of her current situation.

To this effect, a 7 man ad-hoc committee was raised by the senate on Thursday to compile the major suggestions raised by members and present a report which will form part of its resolution on the state of the economy. This committee will present its report to the senate leadership on Monday to deliberate on before plenary resume on Tuesday.
