Oboabona Not Worried About Eagles Snub For Zambia Clash

Rizespor defender, Godfrey Oboabona, is not bothered about his exclusion from the Super Eagles squad for next month's 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Ndola.

Oboabona last featured for the Super Eagles in their 1-0 loss to Egypt in a Nations Cup qualifier in March and was not part of the team named by Gernot Rohr for the game against Tanzania.

But despite featuring in all five games  for his club in the Turkish Super Lig so far this season, the 27 year old believes his chance will come by again for him to prove his worth in the national team.

"We just have to support those in the squad and pray they succeed by beating Zambia,"

"That's more important than any individual missing from the squad.

"I've my chances and I took them, so I believe under the new coach I'd get another to prove my worth," Oboabona said.

Oboabona was one of the most consistent Super Eagles players under the late Stephen Keshi who took charge in 2012  and he played a key role for the Eagles in defence until 'The Big Boss' quit in 2015.

But injuries and poor form saw him play second fiddle to the pair of Omeruo and Leon Balogun under ex boss Sunday Oliseh.
