Muslims beg Boko Haram to free Chibok girls | Nigeria News Today. Your online Nigerian Newspaper

The Muslim community in Osun State has appealed to the Boko Haram terrorist sect to free the over 200 girls abducted from the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State since April 14, 2014.

The Vice-President of the Osun State Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustafa Olawuyi, made the appeal in Osogbo on Monday at a press conference to herald the Muslim New Year, Hijrah 1438.

Olawuyi said the girls had been in captivity for long and it would be better for the group to free them.

He said, “We can only appeal to them to release them from where they are being kept. It is strange how they abducted over 200 girls in the first place, they didn’t take them away by aircraft, they used vehicles and no single vehicle could convey them at a time.

“They passed through towns and villages and nobody stopped them. We can only pray that Allah will release the girls for us.”

Olawuyi said it was wrong to refer to the Boko Haram and other terrorist groups as Islamic organisations because they were not representing Islam.
