'He is useless and needs to be benched' - Watford fans blast Ighalo

Watford fans have vented their anger on Odion Ighalo following their 2-0 defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor on Monday night.

A goal in each half from Jeff Hendrick and Michael Keane in the 38th and 50th minutes secured the win for Sean Dyche’s men.

One of the poorest performers for Watford according to some of the fans was Ighalo, who has just one goal to his name this season, and is yet to capture the form he had last season where he was one of the league’s top scorers.

The fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment over the Nigerian’s poor showing.

Kieren Rees @kieren_rees called on Watford manager Walter Mazzari to bench Ighalo. “Yes, Ighalo needs to be benched did nothing all evening,” he wrote.

James Grigg @Grigg10James stated that his belief in Ighalo, who is Watford’s highest ever Premier League scorer, has disappeared.

Grigg wrote: “Lost faith in Ighalo never thought I’d say that. 3-5-2 didn’t work for us thought we played better 4-3-3, Ighalo was useless, Pereyra was a ghost, Amrabat was lost half the game.”

James Sinclair-Day @james_sd_uk called on Isaac Success to take Ighalo’s place.

“Time for Success to start. We’re effectively playing with 10 men with Ighalo on this horrendous form!” Sinclair suggested.

Josh @ilMago_JW tweeted: “Credit to Burnley they were fantastic, thoroughly deserved the win, when will Mazzarri have the bottle to drop Ighalo?”

Aidan Hogan @aidyhogwfc added: “Ighalo must be dropped on Saturday. Bringing nothing to the team. Does not look like he can even kick a football at the moment.”

And on his part, Dean Lee @deanlee88 tweeted: “Odion Ighalo – missing since December 2015. If found please return to; Vicarage Road Stadium, Watford, WD18 0ER.”
