There was controversy as FC IfeanyiUbah rallied back from a goal down to edge out Crown FC 2-1 in their Federation Cup semi-final fixture at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Wednesday.
Second-tier side Crown FC who knocked out Enugu Rangers and Wikki Tourists from the competition, took the lead through Ademola Ayoola in the 16th minute of the encounter.
The lead lasted only six minutes with Elu Wilson restoring parity for FC IfeanyiUbah in the 22nd minute.
The Anambra Warriors took the lead for the first time in the 56th minute when Cameroonian midfielder Tamen Medrano converted from the spot after Okereke Maduabuchi was brought down in the box.
The award of the penalty was hotly contested amid claims that IfeanyiUbah have been deliberately aided by match officials in the competition.
The match was abandoned two minutes from time after Crown fans invaded the pitch when the centre referee disallowed a goal scored by their side.
Incidentally, Warri Wolves failed to complete their last eight fixture against FC IfeanyiUbah after two of their goals were disallowed by the referee.
Enyimba and Nasarawa United will clash in the second semi-final on October 9 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
