Companies plead guilty to laundering “Patience Jonathan’s $15m”

The four companies charged alongside a former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Jonathan, Waripamo Dudafa, and two others with money laundering have pleaded guilty to the offence.

The four companies pleaded guilty to conspiring with Dudafa and the two others to launder a sum of  $15, 591,700 before a Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday.

The companies are Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited; Seagate Property Development & Investment Co. Limited; Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Development Company Limited and Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had since frozen the $15.6m found in the four companies’ accounts in Skye Bank.

  1. I am dispassionate when it comes to political affiliations but with recent developments and revelations I am tempted to have a leaning. So much theft, i mean at such unimaginable scale, uncovered and brought to the knowledge of the common man on the streets leaves a lot to be desired. Previous government especially the PDP have raped this this country to a level that she can barely heal of the wounds. But the most irksome is the fact that some of them will publicly and shamefully defend these thefts. We are wiser and even more resolute to keep these sick politicians and usurpers from ever getting close to power, ever, even in the face of this seeming economic recession under this dispensation. We will definitely come out of this doldrums as did many other countries and nations. We have postponed this for too long.

    2. @alvin lan.the change we desire in this country is one that is devoid of party affiliations. This should stem from deep within the individual Nigerian, and it really starts with me. We are all Nigerians and we have no other place to call home other than this geographical contraption. We must make it work collectively. Let's pass the right values into our next generation and not the evil legacy of corruption bequeathed us by previous governments
