Arik Air allegedly shuts down operations

According to reports, popular Nigerian airline  Arik Air has shut down its operations as its fuel suppliers and insurers have withdrawn their services.


Sahara Reporters claim that hundreds of air travellers booked on Nigerian Arik airline are currently stranded across the country, following the inability of the airline to airlift them to their destinations.

So far, the airline is yet to issue an official statement.

  1. The airline sells its flight ticket in cash. So, why can it not pay its suppliers promptly? Arumemi-Ikhide probably cannot separate his personal finances from the company's. So the airline has to shut down - but the man lives comfortably. What a shame - an airline with so much assets and such potential!

  2. You don't blame the airline or its management. Are you not in the country to take note of the economy situation. Increase cost of living and importation of foreign products. Nigeria government should do something about it. Else more and more foreign and local companies will sure fold up.
