APC controls apparatus to manipulate Edo elections – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party has dismissed allegation by the All Progressive Congress that the party plans to rig Wednesday’s gubernatorial election in Edo state.

In a statement issued in Abuja yesterday, the spokesman of the party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye said the allegation by the APC was “a smokescreen designed to deceive Nigerians and were made to distract people from plans perfected by APC to rig the Election”.

According to Adeyeye, the statement is not only false but it is misleading and “totally in keeping with the All Progressives Congress (APC) principle of propaganda over no substance. “It is common knowledge that the ruling APC controls the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as all the security agencies and has shown a willingness to use the apparatus of state to manipulate the electoral process.

“The record of poor and inconclusive elections since the inception of the current administration is an example of how far APC is willing to go to subvert the will of the people” he said. He further reiterated that the APC was planning to manipulate the electoral process in Edo State by “collaborating with INEC staff to gain access to INEC remote servers to disrupt and manipulate the e-collation process; Ensuring card reader failure in PDP strongholds in the State and using the national security apparatus to rig the Election and intimidate voters”.

He added that as a demonstration of this plans, “the Federal Government has changed the Commissioner of Police in Edo State for an unprecedented 3rd time in 3 weeks. “John Osakue’s comments is therefore a smokescreen designed to deceive Nigerians and were made to distract people from plans perfected by APC to rig the Election.. T

he objective is to falsely curry sympathy from the Nigerian public while orchestrating and perpetrating their nefarious activities.

“We urge the Obaseki Campaign Organization as well as the APC to stop peddling the falsehood for which they have become renowned as the people of Edo State have made up their minds to reject them on Wednesday September 28, 2016. We urge our teeming members, supporters and the good people of Edo State to shun the propaganda of the APC and come out en masse to vote for our Candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, on September 28, 2016” the statement added.

  2. It seems you are not aware of electoral process and irregularities in elections , so if you don't know stop commenting. The APC used the DSS and others to raise alarm for the election to be postpone so they can have more time to restrategise by asking INEC for postponing which INEC concur to due to security reasons and while PMB was in same Edo state campaigning the previous day there was no security threat . God will disappointment the evil plans , we must change the change .
