Video shows how Obanikoro loaded plane with N1.29b for Fayose

Fresh insights into how a former Minister of Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro allegedly loaded a chartered aircraft with N1, 299, 490b for transfer to Governor Ayodele Fayose through an associate, Abiodun Agbele has been revealed.

The cash was transferred through HS125-800 5N-BMT belonging to Gyro Air Limited.

The first flight was filled with N724.5million cash to the extent that there was no seat for any crew member or the ex-Minister.

It was during the second flight with N494.990m that Obanikoro, his Aide-de-Camp, Lieutenant Colonel A.O Adewale, and crew member joined the trip to Akure Airport.

Records indicated yesterday that for each of the trip, Obanikoro paid $12,500 making a total of $25,000.

The EFCC has retrieved the footage details of Obanikoro’s movement at the airport and the flight schedule of the aircraft.

According to fresh evidence obtained by the EFCC, the ex-Minister had defied security gate at the airport in Lagos to move a bullion van to the apron of the chartered wing to off-load the cash.

Although the security men at the airport resisted the use of the security gate, the ex-Minister ordered soldiers to break all barriers for the bullion van to get to the apron.

A reliable source, who spoke in confidence, said: “Contrary to his attacks on EFCC, we have retrieved the footage and details of how he ordered soldiers to break the barriers at the reserved security gate at Lagos Airport for a bullion van to go to the apron of the chartered service wing.

“He defied security men at the airport and refused to subject the bullion van to any screening contrary to aviation rules. In fact, apart from financial crimes, the ex-Minister and his accomplices have outstanding allegations against them for violating aviation safety rules or regulations.

“The aircraft made two shuttles to Akure Airport on June 17, 2014. Our investigation revealed that during the first flight, about N724.5million was offloaded from the bullion into the aircraft. The cash occupied all the space to the extent that there was nowhere to sit by the crew and the ex-Minister.

“But when the balance of N494.990m was loaded into the aircraft for the second trip, Obanikoro, his ADC, one highly-placed person from the South-West, and the crew were able to make the trip.

“Let him continue to make noise in the United States instead of coming home to clear his name. We have interacted with the aviation staff on ground on the said date. We have identified the owner of the aircraft to be a member of the sacked management of Skye Bank Plc.”

Meanwhile, there were indications yesterday that the ex-Minister paid $25,000 for the two flights to Akure at $12,500 each.

Another source confirmed that the aircraft belonged a member of the sacked management of Skye Bank Plc.

“We have evidence of the payment of $25,000 to Gyro Air Limited for the two flights to Akure. And Zenith Bank confirmed how Fayose’s associate, Agbele, brought the cash into its branch in Akure to keep as sundry funds.”

Responding to a question, the source said: “From our findings, the Minister and Fayose fought over N80million missing from the total cash.

“They had a shouting match until reasons prevailed between the two politicians on the whereabouts of the N80million.”

An Investigating Officer of the EFCC, Tosin Owobo during the week opened up at the Federal High Court, Ado-Ekiti on how the N1, 299,490,000.00 was wired into Governor Ayodele Fayose’s accounts by one of his associates, Abiodun Agbele.

Owobo, who swore to an affidavit, said: “That the total sum of N 1, 219,490,000 (One billion, two hundred and nineteen million, four hundred and ninety thousand naira) was conveyed to Akure Airport by Senator Obanikoro through a chartered aircraft with Registration No: HS125-800 5N-BMT belonging to Gyro Air Limited.”

“That on the 17th day of June, 2014, Mr. Alade Oluseye in the company of one Abiodun Agbele a front of the Applicant (Fayose), went to the Akure Airport wherein they took cash delivery of the sum of N724,500,000.00 from Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and his acclaimed Aide-de-Camp Lieutenant Colonel A.O Adewale.

“That on the 18th day of June, 2014, another sum of N494, 990,000 was also delivered to Mr. Alade Oluseye by the said Minister in the same manner.

“ That the total sum of N 1, 219,490,000 (One billion, two hundred and nineteen million, four hundred and ninety thousand naira) was conveyed to Akure Airport by Senator Obanikoro through a chartered aircraft with Registration No: HS125-800 5N-BMT belonging to Gyro Air Limited.”

  1. If anyone should drop any comment to support Fayose or PDP with this level of evidence against them, then there's no doubt you were among those who partook in sharing our national wealth and nemesis will surely catch up with you.

  3. I wonder what is wrong with most Nigeria who are difficult to please and convince, the reason why EFCC is being pragmatic and also revealing evidence against these looters is to debunk the allegations of with any available fact. But, despite all these detailed investigation some people will never be satisfied with their EFCC effort. With this glaring evidence those who keep supporting evil will one day be a victim of evil one way or the other. Fayose may not be the only criminal in our polity, but a million miles journey begins with a step. And by the special grace of God the good will of the present government will prevail over evil ones.

    1. The issue of hiring chattered plane to move billion of naira to akure was no more a news! Nigerians were fully informed immediately the incident occurred, but for the fact that d pdp was in power then, there was no way to verify this allegation further. So,efcc is doing the right thing now to confirm this allegation and nigerians are trying to condemn the organisation.. Nigeria can only be great if both leaders and followed join hands to discourage corruption in every corner of governance... Pls, let's give this govt a kudos for exposing the looters of our resources.. If pdp or any other political parties can do same when next they get to power, then nigeria would be rank among the best in the world..A corrupt country can never progress in anything.. God bless Nigeria!

  9. I question, NE, where is the video?

    ReplyDelete
  10. The video should show obanikoro loading cash in the plane. It should show the cash and not some cartons which we can't verify. It must show that is is stolen money and show us how it was given to Fayose and how Fayose and obanikoro nearly fought because of a missing 80 million Naira. Only a stupid person will believe the Fulani efcc which is known for falsehood and blatant forgery of evidence. What about the private plane of amaechi shown delivering billions to buhari and the apc? That one na money from heaven. I still call for the president to resign and show his certificate and for international judges to come and undertake the cases of corrupt cases being bandied about against the opposition. Corruption is bad but when it is fought against only opponents of this draconian and directionless regime, it becomes an aberration.

    1. Anonymous 9.05 am,how possible it's to show the cash inside the carton. Why are we so like this country that we hardly appreciate anything good. The APC campaign slogan is to tackle corruption and this will definitely start from the opposition parties. Let the pdp do their own too when NE the they get to power. It's we masses that will be benefit most bcos when the seating govt knows that there would be probe after their tenure expires, then they will be forced to do it right when they are in power...pls,stop supporting corruption

Our country is going down the toilet, young people have no future, tomorrow looks very bleak and a half wit like you and your ilk are here braying like donkeys because your masters have been caught with their hands in the cookie jar. May you and your generations rot in this hell of your making. Idiots!

    1. We can be objective as well by waiting for real evidence (like the video) and a conviction at the law court before making conclusions.

  15. The main issue is that we want to be sentimental about things. No one is saying that looting did not go on during the past government, it has been a trend since the era of independence. It always occurred and in varying magnitudes. It is ugly and sad what they the EFCC has presented as evidence against Fayose and other PDP members.
But I challenge them to allow investigations to be carried out on the sources of funds used for financing the APC campaigns, I bet you, worse can of worms will be opened. So what the hell?
The world knows that the EFCC has been one sided in their recent activities. If they want to catch thieves, let them catch all thieves.

  16. Pdp equally has the same power to probe during its administration but it treated every public officer holder as a saint. It(pdp) never sees what is wrong in stealing from the treasury. If the current country manager hunting the opposite it's okay. If gov. Fayose is found guilty he should be brought to justice so that others can learn from it. Time is coming in Nigeria when politicians will never see politics as the only way to be wealthy, only if this trend continues.

    ReplyDelete
  17. But where's the video? At least the caption indicated there was a video.

    ReplyDelete
  18. All these APC supporters are stupid and callous, that the EFCC said something against someone, how does it transmit into an evidence? NE said video which cannot be seen for our own analysis. Someone said Fayose should explain the billions in his account of which only 300m was seen in fix deposit and also was also included in his asset declaration form. If u expect fayose a business man to explain how he got his money then the chief of army will be meant to explain how he was able to acquire two properties in dubai, properties in Nigeria and the millions in his account, at least the one that has been unravelled.

  19. Computers these days can do anything

  20. Shut up all of u! Are u not fooled enough? If Fayose had decamped to apc no one will try or talk about him. Moreover, his accusation on our glorified first lady also contributed to all these. Why cant we open our eyes, ears and stop being follow follow. Both pdp and apc are the same parents. Please we should stop taking panadol for another person's headache.

  21. What did the EFCC do with the video and picture of Amaechi and APC croonies with a loaded plane with raw cash prior to the governorship election? Nothing. They're now coming wit cock and bull story of Fayose and Obanikoro. Foolish government wit foolish way of thinking.

  23. In my part of the country, a proverb says: Ole lo mo ese ole to, meaning it is a thief that can trace the foot-path of a thief. Both PDP APC and EFCC and partners in crime. I am of the opinion that all people who have been in government since 1999 (including EFCC officials) should be compelled to publish their financial profile before they came into government, during and after they left government. You will be surprised that they are birds of the same feather. Whose hand is clean, who of them can claim to have clean conscience. If you are not in APC, the tag is their, you are corrupt. Once you are in APC, you are clean. May God intervene in the affairs of this country and safe us from the current political terrorism against opposition party members. At the end of the day, our eyes will be open when we see vanity of people in government now. We need more of Fayose to dare the present administration and criticize her constructively.
