Budget padding is our usual business - Federal lawmaker confesses

A member of the House of Representatives, Lawal Gumau on Thursday said the lower legislative chamber has been engaged in the padding of Nigeria’s budget since 2011.

Gumau, who was speaking on Channels TV Sunrise Daily said “since 2011 when I came, there was no year when there was no padding.

He also noted that it (padding) has been going on before the 7th Assembly as members of the 6th Assembly had warned them that it will happen and “we started fighting it since then.

Rep Gumau said the padding of budgets were made without the consent of the House.
He, however, made it clear that he is neither in support of either Speaker Yakubu Dogara or Rep.

Abdulmumini Jibrin but he is in support of the allegations made against the leadership of the House.

  4. The amount padded to our National budget is a crazy figure. Let us not think that it is just taking place, it is must have been a norm since the inception of democracy in Nigeria.

No wonder some could afford to build up hotels everywhere.... This is aside from the monies tagged to their constituency projects that never saw the light of the day. And to make matters worse GEJ was the scape goat, meanwhile they are all the same thing! Now they have all entered into an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) to avoid being probed...

But thanks to PMB that gave us hope that the party is not an Armoured Personnel Carrier, it is a party that has come with the mantle of change, and a vehicle of hope for the hopeless.

You can imagine that all they have been doing is gathering together to make Nigeria bleed. Now the country has been made to enter into recession. And you say God will not Judge them to their third generations??? Let's us all watch. You will see their end, and avoid their path.

    #TheirEndingIsSorrowful!
